7 Days To Die Seeds – Alpha 22.4 & 2.0

Updated for the current live branch (Alpha 22.4 / build 2.0). These community-tested seeds highlight balanced trader loops, biome diversity, and late-game loot paths for both solo survivors and PvE/PvP server owners.

Current Build

Alpha 22.4 (2.0)

RWG revamp + biome heatmap tuning

Last Update

February 5, 2025

Seeds retested after hotfix b317

Best Map Size

8K & 10K RWG

Keeps biome blending + trader loops intact

What changed for seeds in Alpha 22.4?

  • Biome moisture bands were widened, meaning seeds with large deserts previously now include extra forest buffers to keep heat manageable.
  • Trader quest chains prefer 1.5km loops; seeds with clustered traders (3 or more within 1km) produce faster T5 unlocks.
  • Loot-stage smoothing reduces extreme spikes; towns arranged on diagonals tend to spawn more consistent POI tiers.
  • Road meshes now align better with rivers, so older “bridge gap” seeds may no longer produce identical terrain.

How to load a custom seed on 2.0

  1. From the main menu choose New Game > Game World > New Random World.
  2. Set your desired map size (6K, 8K, 10K) and biomes, then click Advanced Generation to reveal RWG options.
  3. Enter the seed name exactly—capitalization matters—and optionally set World Name for the save folder.
  4. Enable Generate Preview to inspect the biome overlay introduced in 22.4 before committing.
  5. After the preview looks good, click Generate World and wait for the caching step to complete before hosting or playing.

Seed-hunting workflow

  1. Generate previews with RWG (or Teragon if you need more control) and export the PNG overlay.
  2. Plot trader coordinates in a spreadsheet; prioritize loops under 1.5km.
  3. Check heat map to ensure at least 3 biome transitions within 5km—this keeps loot diverse.
  4. Share the GeneratedWorlds folder with your group so clients skip regeneration.

Generators & automation tools

  • Official RWG: The 22.4 update now caches seeds faster, exposes biome previews, and supports PNG exports you can share with your group.
  • Teragon: Great for sculpting rivers, roads, and custom POI placement before dropping the finished world into GeneratedWorlds.
  • Community overlay scripts: Tools like RWG Preview Parser or GIS templates convert the exported PNG into heatmaps that highlight traders and loot tiers.
  • Spreadsheet planners: Track trader coordinates, biome counts, and loot-stage caps so you can compare seeds before committing to a wipe.

Unlock Unique Worlds: Best 7 Days To Die Seeds (Alpha 21+)

Discover an incredible variety of gameplay experiences in 7 Days to Die with custom map seeds! Seeds are codes used by the game's random world generator (RWG) to create unique worlds filled with diverse biomes, hidden treasures, challenging terrains, and strategically placed points of interest. While the default Navezgane map offers a consistent experience, exploring worlds generated from specific seeds can dramatically enhance your adventures, offering fresh challenges and exciting discoveries in the latest Alpha 21 update and beyond.

What Are 7 Days To Die Map Seeds?

In 7 Days to Die, a "seed" is a string of text or numbers that the game uses as a starting point to procedurally generate a random world. Every seed produces a unique map layout, including the placement of cities, traders, biomes (forest, desert, snow, wasteland, burnt forest), and other critical locations. By using a known seed, you can explore a world that others have found interesting or advantageous.

How to Use a Custom Seed in 7 Days To Die

Using a custom seed is straightforward:

  1. Start a New Game: From the main menu, select "New Game."
  2. World Generation Type: Choose "Random Gen" (RWG) for the world type.
  3. Enter the Seed: In the "Game Name / Seed" field, type or paste the exact seed name or number you want to use. This field often serves dual purposes, but for RWG, it's primarily the seed input.
  4. Configure Other Settings: Adjust other game settings (difficulty, zombie speed, etc.) to your preference.
  5. Generate Your World: Start the game, and 7 Days to Die will generate the world based on the seed you provided.

That's it! You're ready to explore your new, custom-generated world.
