Is This Game Worth My Hard-Earned Cash?

Seven Days to Die is a survival game that’s been around for a while now, and it’s got people wondering – does it live up to the hype? As someone who’s played it, I’ve gotta say…it’s not your typical experience.

First off, let me tell you: this game is all about survival. You start with nothing, no gear, no skills, and basically no way to protect yourself from the hordes of undead that are trying to kill you. Yeah, it sounds like just another zombie game at first glance, but trust me – it’s so much more than that.

The world in Seven Days to Die is massive, man. I mean, we’re talking thousands of square kilometers to explore, scavenged and fight for every last scrap of food and supplies. And don’t even get me started on the crafting system – it’s insane how deep it goes. You start off with basic tools like rocks and sticks, but before you know it, you’re building homes, turrets, traps…the whole nine yards.

But here’s the thing: this game isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Combat is brutal, folks. I mean, seriously – one wrong move and BAM! You’re dead. And don’t even get me started on the crafting system again. Sure, it’s super detailed and all that jazz…but it can also be ridiculously complex. Like, have you ever tried to make a decent pair of pants in this game? It’s like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded while being attacked by a swarm of bees.

And then there are the NPCs (non-player characters). Now, I’m not gonna lie – they’re not exactly the most… shall we say, ‘lively’ bunch. They’re basically just there to provide some basic services and whatnot, but good luck trying to get them to help you with anything remotely challenging.

But here’s where things get really interesting: this game has a built-in PvP (player versus player) component. What that means is – you can be as sneaky or as aggressive as you want towards other players. Want to go all Rambo on some unsuspecting survivor? Boom! You do it, and the world becomes even more deadly.

Of course, there are also PVE (player versus environment) servers if PvP isn’t your thing. And trust me – those can be just as intense in their own way. I mean, have you ever tried to survive on a server where the game’s AI is basically out for blood? It’s like playing chess against a super aggressive cat… while simultaneously trying not to starve to death.

Now, all that being said – should you drop $20-$30 (depending on the platform) for this thing? Honestly, it depends. Are you looking for a game that’ll keep you up ’til the wee hours of the morning just because you gotta know what happens next? Yeah, Seven Days to Die is probably worth your cash. Do you want some super streamlined experience with easy-to-learn controls and minimal fuss? Maybe not so much.

All I’m saying is – if you’re even remotely interested in survival games or sandbox-y stuff, Seven Days to Die’s definitely worth checking out. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you about the crafting system…
