Air Drop Landed on Base
I’m still trying to process what just happened. We were hunkering down in our makeshift base, trying to survive another day in this godforsaken apocalypse. The world outside is a nightmare – we’ve lost count of how many days it’s been since the virus outbreak turned humanity into mindless beasts.
I was on lookout duty, scanning the horizon for any sign of movement or… well, anything that didn’t want to eat us alive. When suddenly, I saw this strange object falling from the sky. It was a parachute, and it was heading straight for our base.
As it landed, we all froze. What is this thing? Is it some kind of aid package from the government? Are they finally sending someone to help us?
We cautiously approached the drop, weapons at the ready, just in case. When I got close enough to see what was inside, my heart almost stopped. It was a crate, sealed with military-grade tape and labels.
I managed to pry it open without getting bitten by any of our… “neighbors” outside. Inside, we found all sorts of supplies – medical equipment, food rations, water purification tablets… it’s like someone knew exactly what we needed most right now.
But the most surprising thing was a small bag with a note attached. It read: “Good luck. You’re not alone.” No signature, no contact information – just those five words.
It’s hard to explain how much hope that simple message gave us. We’ve been on our own for so long, fighting for every scrap of food and every hour of sleep without being attacked. Knowing there are still good people out there, who care enough about humanity to drop in a little aid… it gives me the courage to keep going.
We’re not sure what kind of organization or individual sent this air drop, but we’re eternally grateful. Whoever you are, thank you for giving us a reason to hold on.
