7 Days To Die: Importing a local game

How to upload your local 7 Days to Die save to your hosted server.

Before You Start

  • Plan S does not support save imports. You need Plan M or higher. You can upgrade your plan at any time.
  • The web uploader accepts a single .zip file. Our backend automatically detects your map and save data inside the zip, so you don’t
need to match an exact folder structure – but following the layout below ensures the smoothest experience. Step-by-step
  1. Create two folders on your desktop: one named save_game and one named user_data. Inside user_data, create two more folders:
    GeneratedWorlds and Saves.
  2. Locate your local save. Press Win + R and paste %AppData%\7DaysToDie. You’ll see two key folders:
    • GeneratedWorlds — contains your map (terrain, biomes, prefabs)
    • Saves – contains your game progress (players, regions, structures)
  3. Copy map files. Find the folder matching your world name inside GeneratedWorlds (e.g. East Tausa County) and copy it into
    user_data/GeneratedWorlds/.
  4. Copy save files. Inside Saves, find your world name folder (e.g. East Tausa County), then the save folder inside it. Copy that
save folder into save_game/. You can optionally rename the save folder to MyGame — the server will do this automatically if you
    don’t.
  5. Zip both folders. Select save_game and user_data together, right-click, and compress them into a single .zip file. The zip should
look like this at the top level: your_world.zip
    ├── save_game/
    │ └── East Tausa County/
    │ └── MyGame/
    │ ├── Region/
    │ │ ├── r.0.-1.7rg
    │ │ ├── r.0.-2.7rg
    │ │ └── …
    │ ├── Player/
    │ │ ├── 76561198043581047.map
    │ │ ├── 76561198043581047.ttp
    │ │ └── …
    │ ├── main.ttw
    │ ├── players.xml
    │ ├── decoration.7dt
    │ └── …
    └── user_data/
    └── GeneratedWorlds/
    └── East Tausa County/
    ├── biomes.png
    ├── dtm.raw
    ├── main.ttw
    ├── prefabs.xml
    ├── map_info.xml
    └── …
  6. Upload the zip. In the Supercraft panel, go to Manage → Files & Mods, scroll to Upload a Save (World), choose your zip, and click
Upload. Wait for the upload to complete.
  7. Activate and restart. Once the upload finishes, press Activate → Activate and Restart. The server will unpack your files and boot
    into your imported world. Troubleshooting
  • Upload fails immediately: Check that your file is a valid .zip (not .rar or .7z).
  • Server generates a new map: The world folder name must match between GeneratedWorlds and Saves. The server sets GameWorld
automatically from your uploaded map name.
  • Players spawn with nothing: Make sure you included the Player/ folder inside your save.
  • “Importing not available”: You’re on Plan S, which doesn’t support imports. Upgrade here.
